British Airways announced that they’re facing an unprecedented fine by 183 million pounds sterling due to the hacking of its security systems last year.

The airlines owned by AIG said that the penalty placed by the high commissioner’s office has amazed and disappointed them.

The British Airways said then that some hackers have done a “criminal, advanced and evil attack” on their website.

The high commissioner’s office said that this is the biggest penalty has been ever placed, and the first one to be announced, according to the new rules.

It is worth mentioning that the new data security rules have come into force last year, and it was the largest modification on the data security rules in the past 20 years.
